  • Choose FDM vs resin first. Do not compare their speed or resolution numbers as if they measure the same workflow.
  • For FDM, start with build volume and enclosure. A 350 mm enclosed S1 Max Combo solves a different job from a 260 mm open Kobra 4 Combo.
  • Treat multicolor support as a system configuration. Confirm which ACE unit is included before using color-count claims on a purchase link.
  • For resin, compare XY pixel size together with build volume. Smaller pixels favor fine detail; a larger print area changes throughput and part size.
  • Check leveling and monitoring automation separately from raw print speed.

Kobra 4 Combo is the smaller open-frame mainstream multicolor choice. S1 Max Combo adds a 350 mm cube, enclosure, active chamber heating, hotter hardware, and a larger multicolor expansion ceiling.

Does Kobra 4 Combo print eight colors out of the box?

No. The included ACE 2 Pro provides the standard four-color workflow; reaching eight colors requires additional supported hardware.

Why must the Kobra S1 Max ASIN say Combo?
