Quick Verdict
Choose Liberty 4 NC (A3947) when you want Adaptive ANC 2.0, Bluetooth 5.3, an 11mm driver, and the sturdier stemmed design SoundGuys preferred over Space A40's case. Choose Space A40 (A3936) when a lighter stemless fit and a more pocketable case matter more than the newer ANC label. Both rate IPX4, list 10H/50H in normal mode and 8H/40H with ANC on the US product pages, support multipoint and LDAC, and use the soundcore app. This page covers those two models only—not Liberty 4, Liberty 4 Pro, or other Space models.
Official US MSRP on both product pages was listed at $99.99 when checked October 14, 2026. That list price is not a checkout total and is not used as a live offer below. Use an independently verified exact-ASIN card when one appears; otherwise open the official pages to confirm the current color, stock, and price.

| Decision point | Liberty 4 NC A3947 | Space A40 A3936 | Buying implication |
|---|---|---|---|
| ANC branding | Adaptive ANC 2.0; up to 98.5% noise reduction claim | Adaptive ANC; up to 98% noise reduction claim | Marketing percentages are not a controlled head-to-head. Compare fit and the SoundGuys observations below. |
| Normal / ANC playback rating | Normal 10H/50H; ANC 8H/40H; Transparency 8H/40H | Normal 10H/50H; ANC 8H/40H; Transparency 8H/40H | On paper the mode tables match. SoundGuys measured ~9h53m ANC on Liberty 4 NC and ~7h55m ANC on Space A40 under its own protocols—different tests, not a lab duel. |
| LDAC with ANC (official FAQ) | LDAC+ANC 5H/25H; LDAC ANC-off 6H/30H | LDAC listed in app/FAQ with higher power use; CA/FAQ notes similar LDAC+ANC 5H/25H and LDAC ANC-off 6H/30H patterns | Enabling LDAC shortens rated playtime on both. Multipoint and LDAC can conflict—confirm in the current app before assuming both run together. |
| Bluetooth | 5.3; multipoint yes | 5.2; multipoint yes | Both support dual-device workflows on the US pages. Version alone does not guarantee stabler connections in your environment. |
| Drivers / weight | 11mm custom-tuned; 5.2g per bud (US specs table) | 10mm double-layer diaphragm; 4.9g (US specs table) | SoundGuys listed 5.7g for its Liberty 4 NC sample and 4.6g for Space A40—sample/method differences, not a reason to discard the official tables. |
| Fast charge / wireless case charge | 10 min ≈ 4H; wireless charging called out on the overview and Amazon A3947 listings | 10 min ≈ 4H; wireless charging stated on the US product page | Both advertise the same 10-minute top-up claim. Confirm wireless charging on the exact case you buy. |

Independent Review Trade-offs
These are separate SoundGuys reviews of the named models, not a controlled head-to-head lab test. Review-era store prices are omitted. Do not treat a Liberty 4 or Liberty 4 Pro review as evidence for Liberty 4 NC.

| Review observation | Liberty 4 NC | Space A40 |
|---|---|---|
| Positive 1 | SoundGuys scored ANC 8.4/10 and called the buds a strong affordable ANC value with long battery life and LDAC/AAC/SBC. | SoundGuys scored ANC 8.5/10 in its lab and liked effective low-frequency canceling for transit rumble when sealed. |
| Positive 2 | Lab MDAQS overall 4.9/5; wireless charging and Fast Pair called out as likes. | Default Signature EQ stayed close to SoundGuys' preference curve without extreme bass boost; 22 EQ presets in the app. |
| Positive 3 | SoundGuys preferred its case as sturdier than Space A40's when comparing the two models in the Liberty 4 NC alternatives section. | Light stemless fit; SoundGuys found them comfortable for hours and easy to pocket when the case stays closed. |
| Caution 1 | Chunky case; many EQ presets described as too bassy; average passive isolation with some high-frequency leak-through. | Case hinges not secure / lid opens easily—SoundGuys reported losing a bud in a bag; owner note echoed lid-closure frustration. |
| Caution 2 | Not athletics-oriented despite IPX4; fit sits relatively shallow for some users. | Microphone handles wind notably worse than Liberty 4 NC in SoundGuys' Liberty 4 NC comparison note; indoor calls fairer. |
| Caution 3 | Measured ANC runtime ~9h53m under SoundGuys' protocol—still strong, but treat manufacturer 8H ANC as a rating, not a promise. | Measured ANC runtime ~7h55m under SoundGuys' protocol—shorter than Liberty 4 NC in that publication's separate tests. |

Which One Fits Your Day?
Pick Liberty 4 NC if you commute with strong ANC expectations, want Bluetooth 5.3 multipoint, prefer stems with in-ear detection and remappable touch controls, and will carry a squarish case. SoundGuys' wind-call note also favors Liberty 4 NC if outdoor calls matter.
Pick Space A40 if small ears, side-sleeping, helmets, or all-day light wear matter more, and you will keep the case in a zippered pocket so the looser lid cannot spill a bud. Volume gestures are not enabled by default—turn them on in the soundcore app if you need on-bud volume.

Configuration Checks Before Ordering
- Confirm the model label printed on the box or listing: A3947 (Liberty 4 NC) or A3936 (Space A40).
- Match color ASINs carefully—Amazon US parent families group several color variants under each model.
- Run the soundcore app Fit Test and tip sizes before judging ANC; both pages stress seal for canceling.
- If you need LDAC and two devices, confirm the current app still forces an either/or before paying for that combo.
- Skip hard-coded sale prices on blogs; use a verified live card on this page or the official storefront total you see at checkout.

FAQ
Should I buy Soundcore Liberty 4 NC or Space A40?
Choose Liberty 4 NC for Adaptive ANC 2.0, Bluetooth 5.3, and the sturdier stemmed case SoundGuys preferred versus Space A40. Choose Space A40 for a lighter stemless fit if you will secure the case so the lid cannot open accidentally.
Is Liberty 4 NC the same as Liberty 4 or Liberty 4 Pro?
No. Liberty 4 NC is model A3947. Original Liberty 4 is A3953 and Liberty 4 Pro is A3954. Do not mix their battery tables or LDAC rules into this comparison.
Do both earbuds have the same official battery rating?
On the US pages checked October 14, 2026, both list about 10 hours/50 hours in normal mode and 8 hours/40 hours with ANC. Those are manufacturer ratings. SoundGuys measured different ANC runtimes on each model under separate protocols.
Which has better noise cancelling?
Officially, Liberty 4 NC markets Adaptive ANC 2.0 and a 98.5% claim; Space A40 markets Adaptive ANC and a 98% claim. SoundGuys scored both highly in separate lab tests. Fit and seal matter more than the marketing percentage for real commuting noise.
Do Liberty 4 NC and Space A40 support multipoint and LDAC?
Yes on the US product pages for both. Enabling LDAC reduces rated playtime, and multipoint may be limited while LDAC is on—confirm in the current soundcore app for the firmware you install.
Are these good workout earbuds?
Both are IPX4. SoundGuys did not treat Liberty 4 NC as athletics-first, and Space A40 needs a secure tip seal without fins. For heavy gym use, compare sport-oriented models instead of stretching either pair.
