Quick Answer

For a living-room home cinema projector, start with brightness; for a bedroom, start with apps and placement. In Aurzen's UK line the EAZZE D1 MAX (1,000 ANSI lumens, MEMC motion smoothing) is the living-room pick and the BOOM mini (500 ANSI lumens) the mid-range one. For a projector for the bedroom, the D1R is the only model whose listing includes BBC iPlayer, through Roku TV, and the D1 Air has a 180° stand for wall-to-ceiling viewing.

Projector for the Bedroom and Ceiling Projection

A ceiling projector set-up needs a projector that can tilt up without a mount. The D1 Air lists a built-in 180° stand for wall-to-ceiling projection and auto keystone up to ±15° vertical and horizontal, and it can run from a USB-C PD 65W+ charger, so it moves easily between rooms. The BOOM Air has a 110° stand. Both list ToF auto focus. If BBC iPlayer is a must in the bedroom, the D1R is the model to look at; its listing does not mention a tilting stand.

Living-Room Home Cinema

For a living room with some ambient light, brightness is the limit. Aurzen suggests a 60–80 inch image from 5.5–7.3 ft (about 1.7–2.2 m) for the D1 MAX in daytime with curtains drawn, and 100–120 inches from 9–11.4 ft (about 2.7–3.5 m) in the dark. The D1 MAX also lists MEMC frame interpolation for sport and action films and 2 × 10W Dolby Audio speakers. The BOOM mini (500 ANSI lumens, 20W Dolby Audio) and D1G (200 ANSI lumens, auto obstacle avoidance) are the smaller-room options.
